My grandma’s love for Chicken curry can be traced back to her childhood, where her own mother, my great-grandma, used to make a special version of it for a holiday known as Dasara.

Every year, when the auspicious festival arrived, the aroma of the sizzling chicken would fill their home.

It often was the announcement for the celebrations ahead. Soon it became a cherished tradition for my grandma, who eagerly waited for the holiday, to enjoy both the festivities and for the delicious dish that was prepared.

Now it is my grandma who lovingly prepares the dish every Dasara holiday.
